Petr Kopecky

Petr Kopeck\u00fd is a Professor of Political Science at Leiden University and Visiting Professor at CEVRO Institute in Prague. He previously taught at Sheffield University and he is a coeditor of East European Politics. His current research focuses on political parties and their organizational transformation, on patronage politics and clientelism. His research has been published in, among others, the European Journal of Political Research, European Union Politics, Party Politics, Political Studies, Democratization, West European Politics<\/em> and Irish Political Studies<\/em>. Baris Gulmez is an Associate Professor at Izmir Katip Celebi University in Turkey. He holds a PhD in International Relations from Royal Holloway London. His research interests are: diplomacy, foreign policy analysis and Turkish foreign policy. His works have been published in journals such as Acta Politica, British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, Foreign Policy Analysis, Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies, and Turkish Studies.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Salvatore Di Piazza (1977) teaches Philosophy of Language at the University of Palermo. Membre associ\u00e9 of GRAL (Groupe de recherche en Rh\u00e9torique et an Argumentation Linguistique) and collaborateur scientifique of the Philixte (Centre de recherche en \u00c9tudes litt\u00e9raires, philologiques et textuelles) at the Universit\u00e9 libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His research focusses on various topics, including the conjectural dimension in ancient philosophy and semiotics, the role of language in the context of organised crime, the notion of faith and belief between philosophy and religion and, in recent years, the connection between language and power in the Nazi regime.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sorina Soare is a researcher at the University of Florence. She works in the area of post-communist comparative politics; her main research interests are political parties, populism, transnational participation and post-communism activism. Among her publications: online First, with Sergiu Gherghina and Paul Tap (2021), \u201cMore than Voters: Parliamentary Debates about Emigrants in a New Democracy.\u201d Ethnicities, and with C. Tufis (2021) No populism\u2019s land? Religion and gender in Romanian politics, Identities. She has been involved in several projects as country experts on Romania.<\/p>\n

Nanuli Silagadze is a postdoctoral researcher at \u00c5bo Akademi University, Finland. Nanuli completed a research internship at the Center for Governance and Security Policy in September-November 2022, receiving the UBB STAR postdoctoral fellowship. Her research project focuses on the effect of referendums on minority rights and sets out to identify under what conditions minority referendums lead to adoption of liberal or restrictive minority policies in Europe in recent years.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Petar Bankov is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Glasgow.
